Salpointe celebrates Mass Wednesday and Friday at 7:35 a.m. in the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Chapel, located in the Sayre Stevens Student Center.

“The Eucharist is ‘the source and summit of the Christian life.’136 The other sacraments, and indeed all ecclesiastical ministries and works of the apostolate, are bound up with the Eucharist and are oriented toward it. For in the blessed Eucharist is contained the whole spiritual good of the Church, namely Christ himself, our Pasch.” (CCC 1324).

Students, as well as all members of our Salpointe community, are invited to participate with the Carmelites at every Mass.

 

Liturgy

Attending and participating in mass, Pinto and Stefanick say, “fuels us to live out our purpose: the purpose God intends for each of us; a life fully alive and united with God.” Mass calls us to holiness. Pinto and Stefanick write, “Mass makes us holy by letting us experience the Word of God, uniting us with Jesus in the Eucharist, uniting us to the Church and strengthening us to share in Jesus’ mission to the world.”

But why? Can’t I encounter God in my friends, in nature, in my family? Absolutely! But we need more. St. Augustine says, “God made us for himself and we are restless until we are with God. Only God can truly fill our human hearts with all that we desire.”
